The Raspberry Pi is a tiny (credit card sized) computer. There will be two models (A & B) which have different specs.

The applications of a computer this size are limited only by your imagination. Some people want to use it for home automation, media centres, always on file servers on home networks.

Could it be used in Amateur Radio?

I think I saw a mention of this in the USA magazine ARRL. Perhaps for a software defined radio

Well the Raspberry Pi was released today at 6am. Been trying to order one for this past hour and a half, but nothing but server-time outs and errors. I've giving up trying now and very angry over the whole thing!

The early bird that missed the worm in the mob of early birds! I think use in amateur radio may depend on the sound card.

I actually did get a Raspberry Pi in the end! I'm currently trying to build a Onewire network, which I'm told the Raspberry Pi supports with no need for an interface (just a small patch to the Debian OS).

Does anyone have any experience with Onewire networks?
